Medical Device Evaluation Workshop: Between the Lines
May 5, 2020 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Toxikon invites you to join our upcoming “Medical Device Workshop.” This interactive day will include a range of presentations, activities, and case studies to fully immerse participant’s in the medical device testing process. Participants will learn how to avoid costly delays in testing, important considerations when developing a biological safety plan, how to deal with material changes, and the latest trends developing in the industry. Each session will be led by Toxikon technical and scientific staff who you will have the opportunity to schedule 1:1 meetings with.
In addition to the educational sessions, we invite you to join our experts for a cocktail hour immediately following the conclusion of the event.
Considerations for Proper Sample Preparation
This presentation will provide an introduction to ISO 10993-12 while taking a deep dive into key considerations for preparing a variety of different medical devices, including non-solid, porous, and complex devices. Pain points will be examined and solutions will be discussed which can be included in a biological evaluation plan and ultimately lead to a smooth first step in the biocompatibility testing process.
Latest Trends & Considerations for Biological Safety Evaluation Planning
Biological safety evaluations continue to grow in importance throughout the industry. Learn the latest developments when it comes to creating a plan, what is crucial to include, and chemistry considerations.
Dealing with Material Change Evaluations
What happens when a material change impacts your medical device? This presentation will discuss what you must consider when going through this process. Previous experiences will be discussed, and the latest industry trends will be analyzed to help ensure every critical consideration is planned for.
Medical Device Case Study Break Out Session
This interactive section will allow participants the opportunity to walk through developing a testing plan for a medical device. Participants will be asked to think critically through developing a risk assessment, identifying problem chemicals, and selecting the correct biocompatibility endpoints.
A complimentary shuttle will be departing from Encore Boston Harbor Resort to Toxikon at 7:45AM. Return service will be provided back to Encore at the conclusion of the cocktail hour at 5:30PM.
